Koń… tylko koń” is the result of research and an exercise in economizing materials. The piece evolves and develops entirely by exploiting the elements present in the initial gesture, a sort of wave that rises and crashes into a brief percussive impulse. The title plays with the meaning of the word “koń” (horse in Polish) with the expression “cavallone,” a term from the regional dialect that refers to massive waves during a sea storm.
