“Tre Notturni Vibranti” is a collection of three short pieces tracing the stages of an evening devoted to “entertainment”. It begins with the repetitiveness of club music, moves through the inevitable tinnitus on the way out and the ensuing headache, and concludes with a sleep as longed-for as it is restless.

Required materials:

Violin:

  • Stick (metal nail file 15/20 cm)
  • Vibrator (sextoy) approx. 5 cm with 3 vibration speeds
  • Half superball

Cello:

  • Stick (metal nail file 15/20 cm)
  • Vibrator (sextoy) approx. 5 cm with 3 vibration speeds
  • Aluminium foil sheets to be applied around two pairs of strings
  • Bow prepared with velcro (soft side over or in place of the hair)

Piano:

  • Stick (metal nail file 15/20 cm)
  • Vibrator (sextoy) approx. 5 cm with 3 vibration speeds
  • Half superball
  • Surgical tape (Leukosilk) to be applied on specific strings
  • Light metal blade

Technical notes:

    The piece requires two-channel amplification output. The use of DPA 4099 microphones is recommended: two for the piano and one on the bridge of the violin and cello.
